PortJar

Terms of Use

Plain-English summary of what PortJar provides and what you can do with it.

1. What this site is

PortJar is a free, ad-supported collection of network and infrastructure utilities. Some run client-side in your browser; others run server-side and reach the network on your behalf to perform a specific lookup or check.

2. Acceptable use

You may use PortJar for any lawful purpose, including commercial use. You agree not to:

  • Automate the service in a way that materially exceeds the published rate limits, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits.
  • Use the service to scan, probe, or attack systems you do not have permission to test.
  • Attempt to disrupt the service through DoS, malformed requests, or other abuse.
  • Resell access to the service, mirror its results in real time as a competing service, or scrape pages at scale.

3. No warranty

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Results may be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. Don't make production decisions based solely on aPortJar result without verifying through other tools or the underlying RFC. We are not liable for losses resulting from use of the service.

4. Privacy

Tool inputs you submit to server-side tools are processed transiently and not retained beyond what's needed to compute the result. Server logs are kept for 7 days for abuse prevention. See the privacy page for the full picture.

5. Third-party services

PortJar uses Cloudflare for CDN and DDoS protection, Google AdSense for ad serving, and Google Analytics for traffic measurement. Each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We don't share your inputs with these services.

6. Changes

We may add or remove tools, adjust rate limits, or update these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “last modified” date.
